Each piece is meticulously crafted and sewn from scraps and offcuts derived from prior projects, including those from my grandmother's sewing kit (one of which being her vintage clothing labels), her sewing lessons, fabrics brought from travels to Africa, scraps from my time in Fashion school, and family members' clothing. To me, all of these materials represent everything. Every motif and pattern was placed, layered, and chosen with purpose. These materials represent everything to which something has been made of the things and people who have influenced me.
